Get Britain Cycling – Yearbook & Directory

Get Britain Cycling 2013 is Landor LINKS’s guide for people involved in the planning, design and management of cycle infrastructure. The 56-page guide also looks at current trends in urban planning for cycling, on-road safety and traffic engineering, cycling to railway stations and interchanges and electric bikes.

Among experts writing in the guide are Mike Harris of AECOM, Tom Burslem of Four Points Mapping, Graham Muspratt of Cleaview Traffic Group, Ian Capon of Streetsure and John Dales of Urban Movement.

Deniz Huseyin, editor of Get Britain Cycling, says: "The UK's All Party Parliamentary Cycling Group believes that cycling in the UK can increase from the current 2% of all journeys to 10% by 2025 and 25% by 2050. Eight cities and four national parks in England have been awarded a share of the £94m of DfT funding over the next two years to boost cycling. Meanwhile, London Mayor Boris Johnson has earmarked £913m over the next 10 years, as set out in his Vision for Cycling.

"We hope this yearbook proves a useful source of information for those whose job it is to plan and manage policies and schemes designed to increase cycling. It includes technical guidance aimed at anyone who is working to develop and implement their own cycling vision."
