A public car park in Wells is receiving a £70,000 makeover this month.
Mendip District Council’s planning board agreed on 9 January to allow the refurbishment of the Union Street surface car park as part of a project to improve safety and to make the facility more user-friendly for shoppers.
The historic city’s Princes Road car park underwent a similar health and safety revamp last year.
Work will include improvements to the layout of the car park and resurfacing.
