DfT still considering pavement parking ban

The Department of Transport (DfT) is still considering a proposal to ban parking on pavements throughout England. Pavement parking was banned in London in 1974, with exceptions made only with the express permission of the local council. The DfT is now consulting on extending the ban across the country in an attempt to encourage more people to walk.
