Rail industry lobbying body the Railway Forum has been wound-up with immediate effect.
The decision was taken by Forum members last month, days after director general Paul Martin had his contract terminated. Martin was rarely seen undertaking Forum duties, prompting disquiet within the Forum’s membership.
The Railway Forum was set up in 1996 at the time of rail privatisation and the break-up of British Rail. It described itself as the “voice for the whole of the rail industry”...
