The Scottish Government is considering a plan to kickstart the electric vehicle market by awarding £3.5m to local authority-led Community Planning Partnerships for the purchase of vehicles and charging points. The Convention of Scottish Local Authorities has suggested that, to save time and cost, the vehicles could be purchased using the procurement frameworks of One North East – the North East of England’s regional development agency – or TfL.
