LAs may monitor bus station access charges

Local authorities could be given a role in ensuring that bus operators that own bus stations do not set unreasonable station access charges for rivals.

The Competition Commission is considering a number of possible remedies including:

a general prohibition on discriminating against other operators

a requirement to manage the bus station at arm’s length from an operator’s local bus operations
