Souter to step up as Stagecoach Chairman with Griffiths as chief Executive

Sir Brian Souter is to take over as chairman of Stagecoach next  May when Sir George Mathewson retires, despite concern that the UK corporate governance code states that a chief executive should not go on to chair the same company.

Stagecoach’s long-standing finance director, Martin Griffiths, will graduate to chief executive under the changes. He will be replaced in turn by Ross Paterson, currently director of finance and company secretary.
