A Labour Government would encourage stronger sub-regional transport governance across much of England and retain Local Enterprise Partnerships, with no return to a regional tier of government, the party’s leader Ed Miliband has announced.
All parts of the country outside London would be encouraged to create city regions or county regions covering functional economic areas and operating as a Combined Authority or an Economic Prosperity Board.
