Nottinghamshire County Council wants to take over the role of managing local bus service registrations from the Traffic Commissioner.
The council has written to the DfT suggesting that the task of managing bus service registrations should be devolved to top-tier local authorities in England and that an initial trial of these arrangements should be held in the county.
