HS2 vote generates a fresh round of pro and anti media commentaries

A key Parliamentary vote on the Government’s HS2 high-speed rail Bill was preceded, in the days running up to the debate, by a brief surge of comment pieces in the papers, split in opinion more or less evenly between those for and against the proposals.

Grassroots opposition to HS2 remains strong... but the Bill passed through Parliament without major opposition earlier this week

As Parliament prepared to vote this week on the latest stage of the Bill that will, if passed into law, see the HS2 high-speed rail line built, proponents and opponents of the scheme took to the media to make their cases.
