A Government scheme offering tax savings on purchasing a bicycle appears to deliver good value for money but its impact on travel behaviour and health is limited by the fact many people taking advantage of it are already keen cyclists.

The findings of an economic analysis of the Government’s  Cycle to Work scheme were presented last week at the Scottish Transport Applications and Research (STAR) conference in Glasgow by Anne Clarke of consultant Arup.
