Stagecoach has launched contactless ticketing technology on buses in Oxfordshire, the first stage of a national roll-out of the system to its business.
The company has ordered 4,000 ticket machines capable of reading contactless credit and debit cards as well as Apple Pay and Android Pay in a £12m investment.
Contactless ticketing was launched on Stagecoach’s fleet of 180 buses in Oxford this week, at a ceremony attended by transport minister Andrew Jones.
