The Government’s proposed route for HS2 through South Yorkshire should be redrawn, according to high-speed rail lobby group Greengauge.
The original plans for HS2 envisaged the Birmingham to Leeds route serving an out-of-town station at Sheffield Meadowhall. This upset Sheffield City Council, which wants HS2 services to serve Sheffield city centre.
