West Lothian Council is to lead a trial of real-world vehicle emissions monitoring that could inform traffic and pollution modelling.
The council has appointed Hager Environmental & Atmospheric Technologies to conduct an £80,000 pilot project using camera-type monitoring equipment, which uses light spectrometry to identify emission levels as vehicles pass by.
The equipment will be tested on the A89 near Broxburn and the A8 near Ratho Station in the City of Edinburgh Council...
