The Government’s high-speed rail plans have taken a step forward with the award of contracts for phase one between London and the West Midlands, and publication of the hybrid Bill for phase 2a (West Midlands to Crewe) and the final route for phase 2b (Crewe to Manchester and West Midlands to Leeds).
