Travellers do not respond to variability in travel times in the way that transport modellers often expect, according to new research.
Erel Avineri, a senior lecturer at the University of the West of England, Bristol, and Joseph Prashker of the Israel Institute of Technology, studied the route-choice decisions of 70 people under different scenarios of journey time variability.
