Hampshire County Council is to cut speed limits on two A roads for air quality purposes.
The reductions on the A339 in Basingstoke and the A331 in Rushmoor will help the areas comply with the EU annual mean nitrogen dioxide limit value in the shortest possible time.
Hampshire’s current speed limit policy only allows limits to be set on road safety grounds.
