Liveable Neighbourhoods Best Practice Guide out now

A new guide packed with useful information about the Mini-Hollands and Liveable Neighbourhoods programmes has been published. The 64-page guide, published by Landor LINKS in partnership with Transport for London, includes a round-up of all the Liveable Neighbourhoods projects being developed across the capital.

Building on the success of Mini-Hollands, the Liveable Neighbourhoods Programme will use the Healthy Streets Approach to deliver attractive, healthy, accessible and safe neighbourhoods.

A hard copy of the publication will be made available to all attendees at the inaugural Liveable Neighbourhoods conference taking place at Alexandra palace on 10 July.

A key aspect of the Liveable Neighbourhoods programme is early and ongoing local community engagement in the development of proposals to help ensure projects deliver the improvements that local people want to see, supported by behaviour change and other non-infrastructure measures.

There are in-depth interviews with the leading politicians and officers from the Mini-Holland boroughs of Enfield, Kingston and Waltham Forest.

Timely advice on developing projects that are fit for purpose comes from consultants Commonplace, Project Centre and Urban Movement. Meanwhile, Cyclehoop talks about the roll-out of Bikehangers and Cycle Hubs across the capital, Rosehill Highways explains its approach to semi-segregation and what:if projects reports on how it is transforming neglected pockets of land.

TfL’s experts offer their insights on a range of subjects including how to collect the right data, making use of the City Planner tool and learning from the false starts, setbacks and success stories behind Mini-Holland. 

The guide also features an indispensable map of all the Mini-Holland and Liveable Neighbourhoods boroughs, showing how much funding each received from TfL.
