Cardiff Council is to loan its arms-length company Cardiff Bus £3.8m to help finance the purchase of electric buses.
In February the DfT awarded the council £5.7m from its ultra-low emission bus scheme for 36 electric buses (£5.356m) and associated infrastructure (£341,000) (LTT 15 Feb). The funding represented 75 per cent of the cost differential between diesel and electric buses.
