North Wales is likely to be the testing ground for a new model of regional transport governance, the Welsh Government said this week.
The news comes amid continuing confusion over the relationship between the Welsh Government’s plans for joint transport authorities (JTAs) and statutory joint committees (SJCs).
Ministers have never used the power to create JTAs contained in the Transport (Wales) Act 2006, but now plan secondary legislation to establish JTAs.
