The cost of development work for a passenger service over the freight-only Brentford to Southall railway has almost doubled, the London Borough of Hounslow has reported.
Hounslow says Network Rail originally estimated that the cost of the Grip 3 (option selection) and Grip 4 (single option development) would be about £2m. But the cost of Grip 3 alone is now likely to be £1.8m, with Grip 4 forecast to cost a further £1.9m.
