Local authorities in southwest Wales are joining forces to oversee the development of regional transport projects, including a proposed rail-based Swansea Bay Metro.
A transport sub-committee is being set up by the Swansea Bay city region joint committee. The latter was created to oversee the city deal struck in 2017 between four councils – Swansea, Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Neath Port Talbot – and the UK and Welsh governments.
