Halton Borough Council has liquidated loss-making Halton Borough Transport, one of Britain’s last municipal bus operators.
The company reported a £620,000 loss in the year ending March 2019, up from £361,822 the year before. Its directors said in December that the council was supporting a turnaround plan, with a planned restructure of the company and a review of its network (LTT 24 Jan).
