Twenty-six bus stops on a cross-city route in Edinburgh could be closed in a pilot project intended to speed up services.
The City of Edinburgh Council says 80 per cent of the city’s 2,500 bus stops are spaced at intervals less than the “desired spacing” of every 400 metres (LTT 20 Aug 18). Twenty per cent are less than 200 metres from the previous stop, 40 per cent between 200 metres and 300 metres, and 20 per cent between 300 metres and 400 metres.
