The Government’s proposed changes to the methodology for determining new housing allocations could fuel greenfield development, local authorities have warned.
A consultation on changes to the standard method of calculating local housing need closed this month. The Government is coming under pressure to scrap the reforms from many MPs in its own party who are alarmed at the increased housing allocations the method produces in their constituencies.
