Buckinghamshire council has quit the Government’s Oxford to Cambridge Arc growth programme.
The Government has championed the Arc as a major focus for economic growth. A report by the National Infrastructure Commission’s in 2017 said the area could accommodate a million new homes by 2050. New transport links including East West Rail and an Oxford-Cambridge Expressway road were seen as vital.
