Highways England is promising to take a more community-minded approach to how it promotes the Lower Thames Crossing project but has ruled out changing the route alignment.
The project features 14.3 miles of new road and features two 2.6-mile-long tunnels. HE withdrew its Development Consent Order (DCO) application for the project in November following feedback from the Planning Inspectorate. A resubmission, with more information, is planned later this year.
