Greater Manchester Combined Authority has published plans to launch a Clean Air Zone on 30 May 2022. The scheme will require the drivers of vans, buses, coaches, taxis, private hire vehicles, minibuses and heavy goods vehicles that do not meet emission standards to pay a daily charge to travel in the zone. Private cars, motorbikes and mopeds are exempt.
