Local authorities slow to tap EV funding

Around 700 kerbside chargers have been funded, DfT reveals

Over the past four years fewer than 700 on-street vehicle charging devices were installed using grants available to councils across the UK, new statistics from the Department for Transport (DfT) reveal. However, a further 3,200 are in the pipeline.

The On-Street Residential Chargepoint Scheme (ORCS) was launched in 2017, offering to fund up to 75% of the capital costs of installing charging devices.
