Hammersmith Bridge in west London has reopened to pedestrians and cyclists.
The 134-year-old bridge closed to motorists in April 2019 when critical faults in the cast-iron casing were found. It was closed entirely last August when cracks in the pedestals worsened during a heatwave. Foot and bicycle crossings re-commenced on 17 July, and boats have also been allowed to pass under the bridge again.
