New research carried out by a road safety charity has led it to conclude there is a compelling case for introducing a 20mph speed limit around all schools in the UK.
Brake found parents and carers across the country do not walk their children to school every day because roads are too busy (36%) and cars go too fast (25%).
Nearly two-thirds (64%) of parents said their school does not have 20mph speed limits on all surrounding roads.
