Number of public EV chargers continues to grow

Department for Transport uses new definitions of charger speed in quarterly data release

There has been an increase in the number of public charging devices in all regions of the UK over the past year.

The Department for Transport's quarterly bulletin on EV charging infrastructure reveals that, as of 1 January 2024, there were 53,677 public electric vehicle charging devices installed in the UK. This means that since October 2023 the total of installed devices grew by 4,457, an increase of 9%.
