The Scottish Government has dropped its target to reduce emissions by 75% by 2030, with Net Zero Secretary Mairi McAllan conceding the target was “out of reach”.
The administration has been lorded for its ambitious commitment to cut transport carbon impacts but it is not clear yet whether these will now be achievable.
McAllan confirmed the overall target, which was included in legislation passed by the Scottish Parliament in 2019, was being ditched.
