TfL’s Abelman to launch new start-up

Thomas Abelman is to move on from his role as TfL’s Director of Strategy and Innovation in July after nearly three years at the organisation. He previously ran his own startup Snap Travel Tech for more than five years. 

He will be founding a new business “focused on helping teams get things done faster”. He said: “Joining a huge public body straight from a startup made me realise that the two worlds hardly coincide. Yet traditional organisations that want to move faster could adopt approaches from entrepreneurial organisations - if they knew about them. These approaches are not idealistic or theoretical but pragmatic and grounded.”

He added: “I don’t know how big this will get. Initially it will just be me, and I’ll back it up with traditional transport and mobility advisory while I get it off the ground.”
