Liverpool City Council has started issuing fines to drivers committing moving traffic offences after a six-month trial period, during which written warnings were mailed out.

First-time offenders who curb moving traffic contraventions are now being issued with £70 penalty charge notices.

During the trial period around 40,000 warnings for first-time offenders and nearly 3,000 fines to repeat offenders were sent out.
