South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) board has decided to press ahead with bus franchising after the Mayor and South Yorkshire leaders considered the independent review of its Bus Franchising Assessment. There will now be a 12-week public consultation on the proposed franchising scheme including operators, users and other stakeholders.

The franchising process so far has involved four outside consultants and advisors , with an external contract now also let for the consultation...
