Government claims £1bn to be spent on buses as fares cap rises to £3

Single bus fares are being capped at £3 until the end of 2025, the Prime Minister announced ahead of the Budget, claiming the arrangement to replace the £2 rate comes on top of nearly £925 million pledged “to deliver high quality services and protect vital bus routes up and down the country”.
