The DfT has issued a prospectus for the next East Midlands Trains franchise, which is likely to commence in 2018. The franchise is currently operated by Stagecoach’s East Midlands Trains Ltd on a direct award arrangement, which commenced last October and runs to 4 March 2018, though it could be extended by a further year.
