Shropshire County Council is next week expected to formally abandon its plans for a congestion charge-based Transport Innovation Fund (TIF) bid for Shrewsbury.
The council received pump-priming cash from the DfT to investigate a congestion charge for Shrewsbury town centre, with revenues used to fund the town's proposed North West Relief Road (NWRR) and public transport improvements.
