MSP inquiry into high speed rail planned

The Scottish Executive  is to launch an inquiry into the potential for a high speed rail link between Scotland and the rest of the UK, and also the continent.

The Scottish transport committee said it wanted to gauge reactions on how such a link could cut journey times and boost passenger numbers.
