Reading Borough Council this week gave its backing to exploring road pricing and bridge tolls as possible ways of paying for a new crossing of the River Thames – but said a road pricing scheme would only be acceptable if Reading residents don’t pay the charge.
Cabinet members agreed the position this week in response to the recommendations of the independent transport commission that examined the transport challenges facing the borough (LTT 11 Jul).
