Transport minister Lord Adonis has launched a consultation on adopting a more cautious approach to biofuels, in line with the Gallagher review (LTT?11 Jul). The DfT proposes adopting Gallagher’s recommendation that the rate of increase of the Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation be slowed, reaching 5% in 2013/14 rather than in 2010/11. Consultation ends on 17 December. Adonis also announced £6m to fund research by the Carbon Trust into advanced biofuels....
