Bus companies do not always possess entrepreneurial flair

Ben Colson (Transit September 26) draws a distinction between the merits of private enterprise and centralised planning when it comes to the provision of public transport services and, not surprisingly, as a bus operator favours the former.

Unfortunately, however, not all parts of the country are blessed with bus operators of the calibre of Norfolk Green or Western Greyhound, still less that of the Trent Bartons and Brighton Hoves of this world.
