The South West Regional Assembly is deliberating how to handle rail projects in the Regional Funding Allocation 2 process.

The DfT has invited regions to include rail in their second round priorities though no additional funding has been provided.

Devon has submitted plans for a Devon Metro including a half-hourly service between Axminster and Exeter. Dorset wants cash to reconnect the Swanage heritage railway to the main line, enabling regular services to operate. A Bristol Metro-style service...
