Tyne & Wear pte Nexus has announced that it has submitted a bid to the Department for Transport for £15m of funding to improve local bus services.
Projects included in the bid includes the region’s first bus-based park and ride schemes, road improvements to improve reliability and other bus priority measures. If funding is approved work could begin next year with completion in 2011.
