22 May 2009

Work is due to start at the end of this month on the refurbishment of King’s Cross station’s glazed roof over platforms 1 to 8. The wrought iron framework will be repaired and 15,000 square metres of new glazing installed – including 2,500 square metres of photo-voltaic glass that will supply part of the station’s electricity needs. The roof work is part of the £450m upgrade of the station and is due to be completed in spring 2012.
