Blackpool Council has launched a bike hire scheme as part of its Government-backed cycling town initiative.
The first nine ‘hubs’ have been installed along the South Promenade with 50 adult bikes available and ten bikes for children. The council plans to have 100 or so hubs with 500 bikes across the town by next May.
Gavin Baxter, Cycle Blackpool programme manager at the council, told LTT that the initial hubs were primarily aimed at leisure users. But he said by next summer hubs...
