Greengauge 21 director Jim Steer this week criticised high-speed rail sceptics, saying many had a London-centric view of the country.
Steer was speaking after revealing plans for a two-line high-speed rail network serving the west and east coasts of Britain. The plans are the output of work funded by the Greengauge 21 public interest group (PIG) that included a number of city councils, PTEs, airport operator BAA, the Northern Way and Regional Development Agencies.
