There could be a business case for two high-speed rail stations serving the Birmingham area, Sir David Rowlands, chairman of the Government company High Speed 2, has revealed.
Rowlands said his team would be proposing a station in central Birmingham – either at an existing station or a new build – and was also investigating a parkway station, possibly near Birmingham International Airport. “If the demand is there, there could be a case for having both,” he said....
