Network Rail has pledged to reduce the need for rail replacement bus services with new plans to divert trains on 20 key routes in the future.

The new plan, which has been devised in partnership the Association of Train Operating Companies, with support from Passenger Focus, aims to keep passengers on trains rather than have their rail journey interrupted by a bus journey.
